Miss Gordon's memories of St Micheal's

Working at St Michael’s C of E School

Hello! I’m Miss Gordon, I’m currently working at St Michael’s School with Mr Williamson’s year six class.

My first day at St Michael’s commenced with an introduction to the staff, the school and most of the children in year six. They came across as very polite and welcoming! I am very impressed with the school policies promoting equality and various great morals.
The first trip I went on with year Six was to Greenwich, travelling by a ferry in the cool breeze of the day. The class took many pictures on the way, some of which were wonderful shots. I wonder if anyone will be a photographer from this class?
My favourite trip was to the Houses of Parliament; as it gave the class the opportunity to explore the important rooms (House of Commons and the House of Lords) where bills are discussed. It also gave them a chance to create ideas for new bills by acting as MPs who were campaigning to become the new ruling political party. The class had some fantastic ideas for their campaign and came up with some great names such as the TEA Party (Total Equality Association).

Year Six did an amazing performance at the Unicorn Theatre which was the first performance of the play ‘Of the Terrifying Events of the Hamelin Estate’. We all worked hard to put it together, Mr Williamson, the Unicorn Theatre and I were very proud with the outcome. Well done!
I will never forget the hilarious lines that characters such as the Pied Piper and the bullies bellowed! Keep up the great acting skills, and don't forget us when you're famous....

I wish you all the very best for the future in your new schools, you will be missed.
